How to choose the right storage solution for your farm

Match capacity to your annual grain production: farms of 100–300 ha typically need 500–2,000 T; 300–800 ha need 2,000–5,000 T; 800–2,000 ha need 5,000–15,000 T; farms over 2,000 ha may need 15,000–40,000 T. Your daily harvest capacity then determines the dryer size, from 5 T/H up to 100 T/H.

Under 3 months: basic silos with aeration are enough. 3–6 months: add a grain dryer. 6–12 months: add temperature monitoring and PLC control. Over 12 months (seed or export grain): premium sealed storage with advanced monitoring and ventilation is recommended.

If you harvest grain above safe storage moisture or store longer than 3 months, yes. A 100–200 T/day harvest typically pairs with a 5–10 T/H dryer; 500–1,000 T/day needs 20–40 T/H; 1,000–2,000 T/day needs 40–80 T/H. A wet grain buffer silo keeps the dryer running continuously.

A small farm setup (2–3 silos + 1 dryer + receiving pit) fits in 1,500–3,000 m²; a medium farm (4–6 silos + dryer + cleaner + conveyors) needs 3,000–6,000 m²; a large farm (6–10 silos + central conveyor gallery + truck loading) needs 6,000–12,000 m²; commercial grain farms with integrated storage and drying use 12,000 m² or more.

Yes. Most Manxing farm projects are built in stages — many customers start with 2–3 silos and a dryer, then add flat-bottom silos, elevators and handling equipment as production grows. We plan the layout for future expansion from day one.
